Giorgio Mazzacurati and Carlo Marino are its sole and joint owners: they hold exclusively all copyright and economic exploitation rights in the source code, the documentation, the database schemas and any future development.
Authorship is inalienable and shall always be attributed to the two authors, in any context in which the software is used, presented or described.

Use by AstroGen APS
The owners permit AstroGen APS to use the software for its institutional activities.
Such consent is a bare permission to use, not an acquired right.
- It is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable to third parties.
- It does not constitute an assignment of rights nor a perpetual licence.
- It is revocable at any time, in whole or in part, at the sole and unfettered joint discretion of Giorgio Mazzacurati and Carlo Marino, with no obligation to give reasons, notice or compensation.
- It grants no right over the source code, its future developments or the name of the software.

AGATA also queries public astronomical archives (Gaia, MAST/TESS, VizieR, SIMBAD, VSX, ZTF, ASAS-SN, OGLE). The data returned remains subject to the usage policies and citation requirements of the respective institutions. Accessing these services does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.
No warranty
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The results of the scientific analyses produced do not replace validation by the user.
